The Problem

Travel photography drifts into postcards unless it commits to a perspective.

A week of mixed locations and conditions can produce a thousand frames with no through-line. The challenge was to find a visual language, light, motion, color grading, strong enough to bind the chaos of travel into a single stylized series.

  • Low-light, long exposures, fast motion

    Working in low-light conditions, managing long exposures, and capturing fast motion across unpredictable environments, sometimes at once.

  • Mixed light sources

    Balancing artificial light sources against natural light without flattening either.

  • Spontaneity vs composition

    Capturing real moments while still composing them well enough to feel intentional.

The Approach

Treat the trip itself as the brief. Don't pre-plan compositions. Let the light, motion, and reactions of people in the frame set the agenda, then bring the cohesion in post.
